Our Vision

Our vision is to create a living, sustainable, enduring space that allows people of all ages and abilities to gather together and share their lives, ideas and experiences, creating a sense of belonging and a deeper commitment to our community.

The Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) is the non-profit organization that runs the Phinney Neighborhood Center and other programs throughout the community.

Originally started with a $200,000 block grant, the PNA has grown substantially over the years, becoming a much-loved community treasure. With a budget of just over $2 million, the PNA has programs and activities not only in the Phinney Neighborhood Center but in five additional sites in northwest Seattle. Services at those sites include the Greenwood Senior Center, two soup kitchens and two childcare programs. Each year, the PNA’s programs attract more than 400,000 visits from people throughout the Puget Sound region.

  • Throughout our history, the PNA has been effectively acting as owners of the Phinney Neighborhood Center, overseeing many smaller capital improvements and taking care of yearly maintenance of the buildings.
  • The PNA has consistently delivered a balanced budget which relies on 70% earned income and 30% fundraising.
  • We have served as fiscal agent for more than 25 neighborhood projects ranging from street trees and traffic circles to parks and playgrounds

For all humans,
the need to connect endures.

We yearn to come together;
to share ideas
and experiences;
to find places
where we belong;
to build a community
of caring neighbors.

We've taken that to heart
at the
Phinney Neighborhood Center.

Community Begins Here
