More about Seattle CAN
Seattle Climate Action Now! (Seattle CAN!) is a grassroots campaign to inspire Seattle residents to take immediate actions that reduce climate pollution. In the fall of 2006, Mayor Greg Nickels released the City's first ever Climate Action Plan and challenged the Seattle community to meet or beat the global warming reduction target of the Kyoto Protocol. One of the key components of the Plan is a community-wide engagement campaign to raise awareness and help Seattle residents take action to address climate change. Seattle Climate Action Now! asks Seattle residents to become part of the solution to global warming by taking action at home and on the road - and by participating in collective action - that achieves concrete greenhouse gas reductions in Seattle. The campaign is led by the City of Seattle and is jointly implemented in collaboration with a broad network of community-based organizations and businesses who are engaging their members, customers, and neighbors in on-the-ground solutions to climate change. www.seattlecan.org/
