PNA Wine Taste
On February 28 the PNA’s 19th annual Wine Taste offers a great opportunity to compare terrific wines while socializing with friends and neighbors. The event includes your choice of ten tastes of wine, delicious hors d’oeuvres from Bill Drummond Catering and swinging jazz performed by Randy Rush and his band. New this year is a wine store offering participants an opportunity to purchase some of the wine that they have enjoyed at the event.
Sponsored by Ballard Market, the event includes wines from the following - Airfield Estates Winery, Animale, Chatter Creek, Dunham Cellars, Eaton Hill, Lopez Island Vineyards, Masset Winery, milbrandt vineyards, Oshea-Scarborough, Portalis Wine Shop, Side Door, Sleight of Hand Cellars, SSCC’s Northwest Wine Academy, Trust Cellars, Two Mountain Winery, The Vineyard Wine Shop, Windy Point Vineyards and Yamhill Valley Vineyards.
Tickets cost $25 for PNA members and $30 for the general public. Designated Driver tickets cost $10. Tickets are available at the Phinney Neighborhood Center or online. This is one of our favorite fundraisers, and we hope you’ll join us in raising your glass to toast the PNA and enjoy an evening of fun! Thank you to our sponsor, Ballard Market and all the Wine Taste participants who are donating the wine for this event. Thanks also to Terry Lundmark for the poster design and printing.

Thank You Volunteers!
During the PNA Annual Meeting it was our pleasure to recognize the work of many volunteers over the past year. The purchase negotiating team of Alan Kirtley, Matt Knox and Janet Selby share the designation of "Volunteers of the Year" for their tireless and successful work negotiating a purchase and sale agreement with the Seattle School District. John Smith received thanks for his leadership as President of the PNA Board of Directors for the past two years and as chair of the Capital Campaign Committee. Angela Fleet received kudos as the creator of the Ridge Romp family entertainment series and Greg Trudeau was honored as an "Acquisitions Ace" for his reliability as a finder of obscure and possibly useful objects for PNA staff members.
In 2008 the PNA recorded a total of 25,725 hours given by 1,067 volunteers in support of PNA events and programs. We thank you all for the time and energy you have shared with us!
On Martin Luther King Day we benefited from the efforts of a group of volunteers from the UW chapter of the Foundation for International Understanding Through Students. They did a terrific job helping with various buildings and grounds projects.

Sponsor a PNA Event
Interested in increasing your visibility in the community? Consider sponsoring one of the many PNA events. Sponsorship helps underwrite the cost of the event so that more fundraising dollars can go directly to support PNA programs. We are looking for sponsors for the PNA Auction, PNA Home & Garden Tour and Greenwood Garage Sale Day. For more information contract chardell@phinneycenter.org.

Auction
Mark your calendar now for May 2 and plan your trip to Moulin Rouge for the PNA’s biggest fundraising party of the year. Celebrate the joie de vivre of the Moulin Rouge and our community as we transform the Blue Building and a large tent in the upper parking lot into a bohemian arena.
We’re sending an auction donation letter to all our members next week and we hope you will consider making a donation to this year’s event. The success of the auction depends on the quality of the donations we receive. If you don’t have an item to donate, please consider making a cash donation to help underwrite auction expenses so that more of the money raised can directly benefit PNA programs. If you or your company would like to be an auction sponsor, there are many levels of participation. For more information or for additional donation forms, call Mary Lee or Chardell at (206) 783-2244 or email marylee@phinneycenter.org.
