Ideas for Rainy Days At Home

Picnic in the living room – don’t forget the plastic ants -you can find them at the $1 store

Beach Party – put on the luau music, use frozen fruit to make smoothies, & limbo

Home Movie Theater – pop in the home movies, and don’t forget the popcorn

Pull out your tent and tunnel – IKEA makes great ones

Bake & decorate cookies

Pop in an exercise video and have your child do step aerobics with you

Window Art – we have some special markers that work on windows and mirrors.

On rainy days we like to draw bright, sunny crazy things all the way to the tops of the windows. Then it’s also fun to spray the Windex and clean them off.

Parade Time – Find everything that rolls, tie them together, put on some music and take off through the house. It’s also fun to dress up and lead the parade playing your favorite musical instrument.

Don your rain gear and brave the weather – splash in puddles, throw rocks in puddles, then retreat inside for a nice warm bath

Colorful bath – bring out the special colored soaps & foams, make crazy shampoo hairdos and take pictures

Beauty parlor – let your child try out some of your old make-up, take turns painting each other’s fingernails and toenails.

Playdate – the time always passes faster with friends so invite one or two over and it will be fun for both the kids and the adults.

Role Reversal – let your child be mommy for the day, make lunch, etc.
