Neighbors helping neighbors is the guiding theme behind this volunteer group. The goal of
PNAction is to improve the quality of people's lives through
community-based service projects. Those in need are helped
through projects such as toiletry drives, yard work for elderly and
disabled neighbors, meals for homeless women, and street cleanups.
Community building through volunteerism is an important
mission of the PNA and you, too, can make a difference through
Phinney Neighbors in Action. To participate, call (206) 783-2244 or
email pna@phinneycenter.org.
Back to School Donation Drive |
The back-to-school season is upon us and students need your help. Phinney Neighbors in Action is collecting new school supplies for Whitman Middle School students and new clothing for foster children served by Treehouse (www.treehouseforkids.org).
The Whitman wish list includes
• two-inch white binders;
• graph paper;
• college-ruled notebook paper and dividers;
• composition books;
• ballpoint pens, highlighters, pencils and erasers;
• colored pencil and felt-tip pen sets;
• post-it notes and index cards
The Treehouse wish list includes
• jeans or pants,
• sweatshirts or jackets,
• socks and underwear,
• other back-to-school basics for boys or girls age 5-18.
There’s nothing like a new outfit to help children in foster care feel ready and fit in at school. If you prefer, you can shop at their online store (http://donate.treehouseforkids.org).
Donations may be dropped in the collection barrels in the foyer of the Blue Building through the end of September.
Thanks for supporting students in our community!
