Volunteering With The PNA Village

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the PNA Village!

Volunteers provide much of the talent and energy behind the PNA Village. They create a vital network of support for our members who choose to age in place. Many PNA Village members are also volunteers, but you do not need to be a member in order to volunteer with us.

We have many different kinds of volunteer opportunities, including transportation, handy work, home safety tasks, gardening, community-building, administrative support, and more.

PNA Village Volunteer Update - May, 2012

First of all, thank you for such a strong volunteer response to this new program! After our Volunteer Kick-Off in February and training in March, we officially launched services for members on April 1st. So far, Village volunteers have helped members with gardening, tidying bookshelves, changing light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries, and cleaning out gutters. These efforts not only help with the physical logistics of aging-in-place. They also cultivate a sense of community and mutual support in our neighborhood. Thank you, volunteers, for your amazing work!

Village Newsletter

If you like writing, design, layout or photography, this is a great opportunity to share your skills! Help us put together a quarterly newsletter that will keep all Village members and volunteers up-to-date and connect them to Village activities. Postering

Like walking around the neighborhood and meeting folks in the local community? We have Village posters that we need to get into the windows of local shops, cafes and restaurants, mostly right along Phinney/Greenwood Ave. Our goal is to get plenty of posters up before The Big One, the annual PhinneyWood Art Walk on May 11th and 12th, so that lots of people will see them! • Providing rides in your own insured vehicle (Are you comfortable helping people with mobility issues? This may involve helping them in/out of wheelchair, storing wheelchair/walked in trunk)
