The following articles were written by Roger Faris and were published in 1994 and 1995 in The Seattle Press. The Washington Press Association recognized this work with the 1994 Communicator Award first prize in the category of Personal Columns, Informational. Roger is a former contractor who taught and consulted about home repair and improvement topics for many years. He was the coordinator of the Well Home Program at the Phinney Neighborhood Association 1988 - 2004. The resources there include a tool and book library, classes on home improvement, house-call consultations, contractor referrals, advice, and encouragement.
