Detailed Event Description

We will host our 32nd Annual Winter Festival & Crafts Fair on December 1 and 2, 2012. Over the past three decades, this event has grown from a handful of vendors & entertainers to a two-day event that now features 115 artists and crafts vendors, hundreds of musicians and dancers, live ongoing entertainment on two stages, a quilt raffle and a bake sale. More than 4,000 people in the greater Seattle area attend the Winter Festival each year to shop for unique gifts and enjoy the spirit of the holidays in a festive community setting.

Crafts, featured at the event, run the gamut from practical to elegant to outrageous. Shoppers can expect to find everything from whimsical toys to vintage style hats to contemporary garden art. But shopping is only one aspect of the Winter Festival.

The entertainment, for instance, is hard to resist with music ranging from Sousa to Marimba. Sedentary ousa players, Appalachian cloggers, blue grass musicians and Middle Eastern belly dancers will all find their way to one of two stages.

To keep you refreshed throughout the event, we will offer lunches, espresso and a wide variety of delicious baked goods (cookies, brownies, pies, cakes, and more). The bake sale items are donated by hundreds of PNA members to help raise funds for our organization.

And don't miss the annual quilt raffle. Since 1988, volunteer quilters have donated their time and talents to create a beautiful hand-crafted quilt that's raffled off at the event. Raffle tickets are $1 each and are on sale now at the Phinney Center (6532 Phinney Ave N). They will also be available during the event. The drawing will be at 4 pm on December 2 and you don't have to be present to win.

The Winter Festival supports PNA programs such as the PNA Hot Meal Program (formerly known as the PNA Soup Kitchen), before and after school childcare, the Greenwood Senior Center, the tool library and the Phinney Center Gallery as well as community projects for neighbors in need and the Volunteers of America Food Bank of Greenwood.

Also keep an eye out for the our annual Giving Tree, which is adorned with holiday gift requests from children and adults in need of a holiday boost.
