Whittier Kids! provides Preschool, Before and After School, and All Day Programs.
Preschool
For Children 3-5
Full Day Preschool, Monday - Friday, 6:45am-6pm, year round
Half Day Preschool, Monday - Friday, 9:30am-12:30pm, public school calendar
Preschool children participate daily in a wide variety of activities designed to give
support and growth to the development of social, emotional, physical and cognitive
skills. Children have opportunities for learning and growth by participating
in group and individual projects, circle time and child-initiated exploration in a
variety of learning centers. Trained early education staff facilitate and document
children’s individual progress as they prepare the children for kindergarten.
Before and After School
For children in grades K-5
Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 9:30am and 3:30pm - 6:00pm
Children are offered a variety of recreational and educational opportunities before
and after school such as arts and crafts, music, drama, cultural activities, and optional
time for homework or tutoring. The child-centered, choice based curriculum
is designed to meet the special needs and interests of the individual children.
Children strengthen social skills and participate in hands on resource activities
such as computer and science projects.
All Day Programs
During Winter, Mid Winter, Spring & Summer Vacations
Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 6:00pm
Children enjoy social, recreational, and educational opportunities that include a
variety of fun-filled choice enrichment activities as well as daily field trip options.
The curriculum is designed to maximize the self-expression, creativity, and problem
solving ability of each child. The teachers design a program that is both
meaningful and interesting, based on the expressed interests of the children.
