And the Beer Taste Winners Are…
A refreshing breeze complimented the warm day, crisp brews and tie-dyed t-shirts at the 12th Annual PNA Summer Beer Taste on July 22. The theme: Summer of Beer, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love.
This event is not only about great beer, fun, and community, it also raises important funds for our many programs–the Hot Meal Program, the Greenwood Senior Center, the Tool Lending Library, community events and classes, kids’ programs and more.
It was a team effort–our awesome brewers (who donate their beer and cider!), our sponsors Barking Dog Ale House, The Yard, Prost!, and The Park Pub, the Beer Committee and volunteers who worked hard to put on the event, and (of course!) the drinkers!–all helped us raise a whopping $17,226! THANK YOU TO ALL!
The PNA puts on two beer tastes a year–winter and summer–and the crowd casts votes for their favorites.
The 2017 Summer Beer Taste favorites were:
- 1st: Resolute Sour Blonde from Dirty Couch Brewing
- 2nd: Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb Winter Ale from Fremont Brewing
- 3rd: Three way tie:
Raspberry Sour from Lucky Envelope Brewing
Makeda Coffee Porter with Theo Chocolate Nibs from Rooftop Brewing Company
Mighty Bine IPA from Stoup Brewing
- Cider: Sangria Fruit Cider from Portland Cider Co.
Thank you to Will Foster and Connie Fisher for taking great photos at the event!
Save the date!
PNA Winter Beer Taste is Saturday November 11.
It’s our 30th annual Winter Beer Taste, so it’ll be a special one! We’re super excited.
