Eat local. Build community. Our new Bite of PhinneyWood tasting event showcases our amazing local restaurants, cafés, and bars on Sat, Sept. 17!
Bite attendees can try more than 20 local restaurants and buy beers from Halcyon Brewing Company in our Phinney Center Upper Parking Lot. This event is brought to you by our friend Salmon Bay Community Lending, and proceeds support our programs for seniors, kids, and the entire community.

Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Black & Blue Salmon Tacos
The Barking Dog Alehouse is a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant specializing in micro craft beers and great food. They focus on local craft micro beers while also featuring microbreweries from around the country.
“We are excited to join the tasting event because we love our community and this is an opportunity to connect with our neighbors, and introduce more folks to our unique Alehouse experience.”
Drink Style: All natural raw kombucha
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Jamaican Ginger Hibiscus Kombucha (vegan, gluten free)
Beneficial Brewing Company brews low sugar, big flavor kombucha using the finest teas and spices.
They are excited to, “share our awesome kombucha with the community and to support one of the best neighborhoods in Seattle in Phinney Ridge!”
Food Style: Authentic Mexican tacos, quesadillas, sopes, consomé, and menudo
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Chicken Tinga Tacos
La Conasupo Taqueria & Snack Shop serves authentic Mexican tacos and quesadillas, with the lamb barbacoa and consomé (lamb soup) being house specialties. Everything is made fresh from scratch in their kitchen and portions are very large and heavy on the meat.
“We would like more of our PhinneyWood neighbors to experience our very authentic, fresh, house-made Mexican specialties.”
Food Style: High quality food and market items at affordable prices
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Mini Breakfast Sandwich (vegetarian option available)
Mainstay Provisions is an all-day café and specialty market that offers house made soups, sandwiches, breakfast pastries, desserts, and much more! Their market selections include a collection of local and international beers and wines, specialty oils, vinegars, and other specialty items.
They are, “looking forward to being part of the Bite of PhinneyWood community. We are so incredibly thankful for the PhinneyWood neighborhood for supporting us since our opening in October 2019.”
Food Style: Patisserie specializing in French pastries, desserts, and lunch
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Pacific Northwest Croissant
Petit Pierre Bakery is a French family-owned bakery and café that offers freshly baked pastries, desserts, salads, sandwiches, coffee, and more! They are new to PhinneyWood, having recently taken over Celine Patisserie, and they are excited to meet the neighborhood and showcase their bakery.
Food Style: Artisanal pizza, pasta, salads, house made desserts, and a large variety of Romanian wines
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Creamy Pesto Penne
Pizzeria La Rocca is a dine-in Italian restaurant that combines traditional Romanian hospitality with fine Italian cuisine.
“…we are excited to have so many people tasting a bite from our delicious pasta,” they shared. “This is actually our first year in this great neighborhood, so we are happy to participate and interact with new people.”
Food Style: House made pastries, light breakfast, and lunch plus a full espresso, coffee, and tea menu
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Cookies (vegetarian), Cold Brew Coffee (vegan, gluten free)
Preserve and Gather is a neighborhood café serving a full espresso and tea menu, house made pastries, light breakfast, and lunch. They brew Fulcrum coffee and make the majority of their products from scratch.
They shared that they’re, “excited to meet more of the neighborhood since we’re a little off of the main drag.”
Food Style: Quick service and tasty foods and coffee for morning commutes along 85th
Bite of PhinneyWood Bites: Caffe D’arte Cold Brew, Lotus Energy Drink, Little Rae’s Shortbread Cookie Bites (vegetarian)
Riveted Coffee is a new drive thru on 85th Ave in Greenwood that serves toasty ciabatta breakfast sandwiches, Caffe D’arte cold brew, Lotus Energy Drinks, muffins, egg bites, cookies, snacks and more.
“We are excited to see regular customers and meet new neighbors to introduce them to our friendly team and delicious drinks. We are growing our new small business, so come try us out and help in our success!”
Food Style: Authentic homestyle and regional Thai cuisine
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Gaeng Krua Sapparod (red curry with pineapple and either chicken or tofu on red and white jasmine rice; gluten free and vegetarian option available)
Thaiku is a full service Thai restaurant and bar featuring authentic home cooking and street specialties served in a cozy bungalow with antique decor and a fireplace.
“We are excited to introduce our restaurant to our PhinneyWood neighbors and Seattleites who have yet to experience the Thaiku love.”
Food Style: Hot sandwiches and yummy grub
Bite of PhinneyWood Bite: Valhalla Pork Sliders
Valhalla Sandwiches is a local sandwich shop that specializes in gourmet hot sandwiches. They also serve creative, hearty sides in their casual café.
“We’re excited to be a part of this neighborhood event! It’ll be nice to bring the neighborhood together to support our businesses, and eat yummy food at the same time!”
