The PNA Business Group is excited to announce we will have a guest presentation from Nick Abel, pre-tax specialist at Commute Seattle! Commute Seattle is nonprofit transportation management agency that provides free consultations and technical assistance to businesses looking to alleviate some of the financial burden of commuting to work.
Nick will talk about the variety of commuter benefit programs available to employers, but will specifically focus on pre-tax commuter benefits, a federal tax allowance that employers can offer to their staff. This cost-free program allows employees to use pre-tax deductions, similar to a 401k or FSA, to pay for qualified commuting expenses, reducing their taxable income and saving them up to 40% on commuting expenses. Employers can also save up to 9% on their payroll taxes!
By encouraging employees to use alternative modes of commuting we can reduce congestion, traffic and pollution, and free up parking in Phinney Ridge for customers to use. This will contribute to a more economically sustainable, prosperous and accessible Phinney community for all. Commute Seattle services are completely free, and Nick can answer any questions you have about your business or employees commuting challenges.
