March Mammal Madness 2019 Presentation

Friday, March 8, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

In 2013, inspired by college basketball’s March Madness, biologist Dr. Katie Hinde started an annual tournament of “simulated combat” competition among mammals. In this fun month-long, internet-based event, scientific literature is combined with sportscaster narrative to call battle outcomes between two species in a variety of different environments. Playing along is an enormously fun way to be educated about the way adaptations and environment shape species interaction and learn more about mammals both familiar and exotic. In this presentation, we’ll be covering how to fill out your “brackets,” the various ways to follow the “battles,” and how track your points. We will also take a brief look at the “stats” of the animals that are competing this year’s event. For more information: https://libguides.asu.edu/MarchMammalMadness. RSVP: 206.297.0875.
