Rebellious spirits, bold brushstrokes, outdoor studios — these were the Impressionists, painters who turned the world upside down. Monet, Van Gogh, Degas, Renior and others introduced a new style of painting that shocked critics, patrons and art lovers alike — and, while they were at it, redefined what art is and what is a masterpiece. Beautiful colors, beautiful paintings, beautiful subjects — this presentation will present an overview of the Impressionist movement, snippets of artist’s lives and the five characteristics of this painting style.
