What is the Great PhinneyWood Feast?

For the past 9 years, our neighborhood has had the tradition of “Pig Out to Root Out Hunger” an event that served as a fundraiser for the PNA’s Hot Meal Program which serves more than 20,000 free meals a year to those in need.

As with literally everything, this year is different. With many of our local restaurants, bars, and cafes struggling to pivot to the new reality, we are going to focus this year’s event on supporting you. This year, we are calling for a week of action and support for our business district’s eateries and are calling the event The Great Phinneywood Feast.

How Will This Benefit My Eatery?

We will spend a week urging everyone in the neighborhood to come out and support all of our restaurants, pubs, and cafes in Phinney/Greenwood. All you have to do is sign up and we broadcast your business to the community and let them know you will welcome them with “open arms”, safe seating, and to-go bags. This is totally free for your business. In prior years, we have asked that participating businesses donate a portion of the proceeds to the Hot Meal Program, but this year any donation is voluntary and we are focused on overwhelming support for the eateries that give our community its character.

What is the Hot Meal Program?

The PNA serves three free meals – two dinners and a lunch – every week at the Greenwood Senior Center and St. John United Lutheran Church. Meals are cooked and served by volunteers using fresh, donated food. The program serves nearly 20,000 meals a year to low income, disabled, unhoused, and elderly community members.
