Greenwood Senior Center to serve as cooling center
By ana-maria

Hot temps are coming again! Our Greenwood Senior Center will serve as one of the City’s Cooling Centers, where (masked) people can come to our air-conditioned Greenwood Room to cool off.  Well-behaved dogs are permitted, as long as they are on a leach at all times.

HOURS: 10 am – 4:30 pm, Thursday & Friday, Aug. 12 & 13 and 1-5 pm on Saturday, Aug 14.

CALL AHEAD: We are asking people to call ahead if they plan to come by. The number is 206-297-0875.

LOCATION: 525 N 85th Street, 98103, between Dayton and Fremont Avenues N. Bus #45 stops in front of the center; bus #5 stops at 85th and Greenwood, requiring a short walk. Get directions.

MASKS REQUIRED: Please note masks are required in the Greenwood Senior Center, regardless of vaccination status. They may only be removed while eating or drinking in the Greenwood Room.

Here’s a list of other Cooling Centers in the city and tips to stay cool.

Stay safe, everyone, and check in on your neighbors.
