Burkholder: A Movie Screening To Benefit The GSC

Saturday, Apr 19, 3-5:30 pm. GSC. $20 per person; includes a reception with the filmmaker.

Writer/director Taylor Guterson shattered stereotypes two years ago with Old Goats, a fun and unexpected comedy about three old codgers, which proved with its overwhelmingly positive reception that there was an audience for a real film about an often overlooked demographic. In Guterson’s newest movie, Old Goats actor Bob Burkholder (whose name gives the movie its title) plays Teddy, who has been renting a basement suite from Barry (Britt Crosley, also of Old Goats) for more than two decades. Barry, finding himself increasingly frustrated by Teddy’s erratic behavior, finally turns to an under-employed couple’s counselor for help. The Greenwood Senior Center was proud to show Old Goats before its theatrical release. This time we will screen Burkholder before it is shown at the Seattle International Film Festival, as a benefit to support the center’s programs and services. A discussion with the director and reception will follow the film. Call 206.297.0875 with questions.
