In his day job Andrew is an advertising creative director. He helps big brands connect to customers through creative storytelling. He is hoping to draw from his experience to help the PNA communicate effectively with the community about all the amazing events, classes and services available to them. He is also here to learn from the community and its leaders, as he continues to strive to be a better friend, husband and father.
I’ve lived in Greenwood for two years, and before that lived in Licton Springs for three. I’ve been a PNA member for several years and have always enjoyed the beer tasting events and farmers market in the summer. I’m excited to serve the community here via board membership and my expertise as a commercial loan officer. In my free time I enjoy fishing, hiking, training my dog and spending time with my fiancée.
I moved to the Loyal Heights neighborhood in Ballard in 2014 and quickly put down roots. Now we’re a family of four, still in Ballard, and the PNA’s programs have touched our lives in many ways. From our time with the Ballard Preschool Co-op to community events and classes, I’ve met neighbors who turned into friends. My first career was in nonprofit communications, and I hold a Masters in Public Administration. Now I’m a Realtor with Lake & Company, where I continue to help people bring their vision to life. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to support the PNA as a Board member and give back to the community I’m lucky to call my home.
Steph is excited to return to nonprofit work after spending five years doing marketing at cybersecurity startups. Before joining the startup world, Steph worked with numerous arts and cultural institutions including the Park Avenue Armory, Arts at MIT, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She holds a BS in media, culture and communications and a minor in art history from New York University. Steph is still relatively new to Seattle, having moved to the Emerald City at the start of 2020.
She became a first-time homeowner when she moved to Phinney Ridge in 2021 and immediately fell in love with the Phinney Farmers Market and Winter Festival & Crafts Fair. She is constantly impressed by the range of PNA’s programs and is excited to make a positive impact on her community. Steph was born in Singapore, where she lived before moving to the US for college. She had a brief stint working in California but the constant sun proved unbearable, prompting her move to the Pacific Northwest. She loves going to museums and parks, and enjoys spending time with her wine community and concocting perfumes in her small studio at home.

He lives in Seattle with his partner Haley and their dog Karl, and enjoys camping, cooking, making cocktails, and taking walks with Karl.
Chris has devoted his career to nonprofit leadership and is excited to be a part of the PNA and the Phinney neighborhood. Beginning his career at the YMCA of Greater Seattle, Chris focused on Youth Development and Outdoor Camp Programs but eventually fell in love with community outreach and philanthropy. After the YMCA, Chris has spent the past 10 years working in Development and Communication in Seattle and parts of Snohomish County, helping build fundraising processes and opportunities that allow organizations to have a deeper connection with their stakeholders and community members. Most recently, he worked in Greenwood at The Bureau of Fearless Ideas.
Chris is a lifelong Seattleite, living near the Phinney neighborhood for the past 15 years. In his spare time, Chris is a long-time writer and lover of film (both good and bad). He also enjoys spending time with friends, supporting live music, attending local sporting events, and walking his dog around Greenlake. He is currently dedicated to cheering on his favorite team, the Mariners, to their first postseason appearance in 21 years (which is harder than it seems.)
When my partner and I were looking to move in the summer of 2021 it was important to us to find a place we could see ourselves putting down roots and investing not only in our home but also in our community. I came to the PNA to be able to access the tool library, learn about classes and ways to give back and attend local events.
I joined the board to help support events and plan for services that knit our neighbors together.

Christi is passionate about connecting people and communities. “Here in the PhinneyWood community, I have always felt connected, and appreciate the sense of belonging that this neighborhood offers. I am thrilled to lead the PNA team, represent the community, and help make this community better for all of us in it.”
Her career has been focused on program management and development, staff and board leadership, fundraising, and community outreach. She brings experience from her development and leadership roles at the Pike Place Market Foundation, YMCA of Greater Seattle, and the American Cancer Society.
As a lifelong Seattleite, she understands the benefits and challenges that this thriving and beautiful city has to offer. Having spent nearly 20 years in the PhinneyWood neighborhood, she has also experienced the positive impact of PNA events, programming, and community building.
When not at the Phinney Center, you can likely find Christi on a long walk in the neighborhood or beach, entertaining friends and family, or participating in a local event.
Jamie is a long-time Phinney Ridge resident and PNA patron. After years of enjoying farmers markets, art fairs, beer fests, community parades, and all the other wonderful services and activities offered by the PNA, he is excited to play a role in helping the PNA continue to grow an inclusive and welcoming community.
By trade, Jamie is a software engineer who still remembers what it was like to ship shrink-wrapped software on floppy disks. Prior to volunteering with the PNA, he has been involved with several charitable organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Tableau Foundation. In his free time, he likes to relax with family, cheer on his beloved Mariners, and support live music.
My husband and I moved to Seattle over ten years ago now, and immediately fell in love with the neighborhood. We love exploring and supporting all of the local businesses and have participated in many of the activities sponsored by the PNA since we moved to Greenwood in early 2012. The Winter Festivals, book exchanges, farmers markets, art activities, and educational offerings are so well-organized, fun, and fantastic!
I began volunteering with the PNA Village in 2018, bringing my experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist and health care administrator in quality improvement and patient safety. I am passionate about ensuring the seniors in our community are able to retain access to services and remain active, connected, safe, and supported in their own homes for as long as possible. I am grateful for the opportunity to “give back” in service on the Board of Directors, to share ideas, energy, and leadership in order to help build and grow this amazing organization.
Cecily started working for PNA in 2006 as the Director of our Greenwood Senior Center. Since then, senior programs have expanded to include the PNA Village and Memory Loss Programs. She was the Program Director at Temple Beth Am for 15 years and the Senior Adult Department Director of the Stroum Jewish Community Center from 1984-1991. Her background is in religious studies and gerontology. Her passion is community and the importance organizations like the PNA can be in the lives of individuals and society. Cecily’s door is always open and welcomes and encourages ideas and suggestions.
My family and I moved to the neighborhood in 2019 from Wallingford and I am so excited to invest in the neighborhood. I personally love the Farmers Market in the summer. My favorite program would have to be the Tool Lending Library, which has enabled me to take on bold projects like redoing piping in my bathroom. I joined the PNA Board to volunteer, build community, and support the organization and neighborhood.
Cindy Lewan started at PNA overseeing the Pre-school and School Age programs as the Director at Whittier Kids. She has worked with students in various capacities for multiple years. Cindy always strives to empower the youth and staff she works with in some way every day. She graduated from the University of Washington’s Pre-3 Executive Leadership Institute last year and is proud to be a part of professionalizing the field of early childhood education. She loves to laugh, cook (and eat!), paint and spend time in the outdoors.
Nick has lived in Phinney with his wife since 2018. His family loves the neighborhood and firmly believes it is made better by everything the PNA has to offer. Nick looks forward to giving back to our community and is excited to assist an organization that has already given his family so much. Nick has lived in Washington since 2008 and is currently an attorney at Fox Rothschild in Seattle. Go Dawgs!
Shawn has a long history of living near the Phinney Ridge area – he was raised in Ballard and attended Whittier elementary. After high school, Shawn served for seven years in the United States Air Force and achieved his bachelor’s in business administration (BBA). After service, Shawn gained a variety of experience, including government contracts, utilities, translation/interpreting coordination, and shipping management, while building his landscape garden design business. Before joining the PNA, Shawn managed a historic building in Pioneer Square. Shawn’s next chapter was to give back to the community. When he read the Facilities Director job opening, he was very excited to join the PNA, learn the nonprofit culture, and contribute his lean mindset using a 5s methodology, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
Renee became involved in the PNA in 2014 when her husband signed up the family after seeing the amazing community in action at the winter beer taste. The two haven’t looked back since and have been avid volunteers with the PNA. Renee decided to take her involvement to the next level in 2018 and was elected to the Board of Directors.
Renee and Chad moved to Washington from Wisconsin in 2013. They settled into the Broadview neighborhood in 2014 and added a son to their family in 2016, and a daughter in 2018. Renee has a background in hospital Social Work (most recently at Seattle Children’s) and currently cares for the children full time.
My husband and I first moved to the neighborhood 20+ years ago as new homeowners. I remember attending the PNA Home & Remodel Fair and then a class on seismic retrofitting and being so excited to tackle home projects and put our roots down here.
Since that time, we’ve raised two kids who both attended the PNA’s 65th Street Preschool Co-op (now the Ballard Preschool Co-op), and are now off to college. Our family has attended so many fun PNA events, and made good use of the Tool Library!
I’m an attorney and a writer, and over the years have served in various board positions and volunteer roles for my kids’ schools and sports teams. I’m always working on a home or yard project of some sort, and I love to see live music as often as possible.
I am excited for the opportunity to be of service on the PNA Board, and to give back to this wonderful community that I feel so lucky to call home.
Bill and I bought our home in 1995 in “Lower Phinney” and soon discovered the PNA and its wealth of activities. Our favorites included Winter Festival, the Farmers Market, and the neighborhood-wide Garage Sale.
In 2007 my mother came to live with us, sparking our family’s relationship with the Greenwood Senior Center. Over the years she benefited from classes, support groups, knitting group, and even monthly haircuts, teaching us all over again the power of community.
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to serve on the PNA board and am also a volunteer with the PNA Village. I’ve served on several nonprofit boards and am happy to give back to the community that has given us so much.
The first thing I remember about moving to the Phinney neighborhood was discovering a copy of the Phinney Ridge Review on the doorstep of my apartment complex. Over 25 years later, I still love the PNA and all that it does for our community. I hope to bring my experiences as a leadership development consultant and small business owner to the board and to help continue growing the PNA so it can be a positive support to our community for decades to come.
My husband Marc and I live in the neighborhood with our precocious German shepherd, Ana, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in clinical animal behavior. When I’m not studying, I spend my time teaching yoga, trying to corral Ana, and sipping Blackthorn cider at the 74th Street Ale House.
