A monthly discussion group intended to explore a more in-depth perspective on specific regions, crises and people throughout the world. Prior research encouraged. Articles, maps and other citations invited.
March: Brexit – the Dilemma and the Chaos.
Series kick-off with a conversation about the far-reaching consequences of the UK referendum decision to depart the European Union without a parliamentary or popular consensus on how to do so.
April: Saudi Arabia under Mohammed bin Salman
We’ll recap the history of the House of Saud’s relations with oil-buying and weapon-selling nations, and discuss where Saudi Arabia is headed under MbS, and his apparent conflicting activities and identities.
May: Melting Antarctica
Climate change is rapidly melting the ice cap of the northernmost continent. We’ll examine the coming global effects of not only the inundation of many populous low-lying regions, but also potential economic and military conflicts over newly uncovered resources.
