Holi Festival of Colors
Saturday, March 10, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree - $10
Celebrate this traditional Indian festival with music, storytelling, food, and a fun color fight!
Holi – “the festival of color” or “the festival of love” – celebrates spring, connection, and the triumph of good over evil.
Come join in this raucous celebration, where people will chase each other around, throwing handfuls of colored powders.
Folks from all religions and ages are welcome!
With each ticket you get two color packets, with the opportunity to buy more on site.
Food will be available for purchase through The Roll Pod food truck. They’ll be offering chicken, Paneer (vegetarian), and Aloo-Gobhi-Matar (potato-cauliflower-peas) [vegan], rolls and rice, mango lassi and chai.
Jaipur Avenue will be serving chai as well.
This event was spearheaded and generously planned by a neighbor who wants to share her culture with the community.
Cost: $10 supports the cost of the event (a pay what you can option is available). Kids under 5 free.
Location: Phinney Center lower parking lot
Fine print: This is a messy celebration! Wear something comfortable that you are willing to stain. If you want an event souvenir, wear a white t-shirt. Colors are cornstarch based and safe natural colors. They can be (mostly) dusted off. No water will be available at the event for wash up, but soap and water at home can finish your clean up. We recommend applying a moisturizer to skin and coating your hair with a small amount of coconut or olive oil before the event, and bringing something to protect your car to go home.
