Phinney’s Blue Building Rotating Exhibitions is a community-focused exhibition program. Beginning with four rotating exhibitions per year, the program aims to create meaningful opportunities for local artists — particularly emerging and BIPOC artists — to exhibit work in a welcoming and highly visible community space.
Each exhibition features two artists at a time in the lobby of the Blue Building exhibition walls and includes a mix of works for sale and not-for-sale (NFS) pieces.
The program is designed to:
- Support local and emerging artists
- Increase visibility for underrepresented voices
- Foster community connection through art
- Celebrate cultural months and highlight the diversity of our community through art
- Create accessible entry points into exhibiting artwork professionally

Michael Ford
I moved with my family to Phinney Ridge in 2005, where we have lived ever since. I spent 30 years working as a scientist for the National Marine Fisheries Service, doing research to support conservation of Pacific salmon and marine mammals. One of the things that struck me over this time is that nature is full of beautiful patterns. Some of these are obvious, others less so. These are my attempts at creating unique images from patterns in nature. All are created using publicly available scientific data. Xin Lu
Xin Lu is a Seattle-based painter originally from China. Her work explores how composition, color, and spatial structure transform everyday scenes. Working primarily in oil, she simplifies figures, interiors, and landscapes into interlocking shapes and compressed spaces. Her paintings received awards in the Best of Gage exhibitions in 2024 and 2025 and have been shown throughout the Seattle area. In 2026, her work was selected for a beer can label in collaboration with Single Hill Brewing and Cowiche Canyon Conservancy. She is represented by Gallery 110 in Seattle.

Purchasing Artwork
Interested in taking home some artwork?
Most artwork will be available for purchase, with a few NFS items (determined by the artists).
Artwork can be purchased in person through the PNA front desk. Cash, check or credit card via Square.
