Blue Building Community Spotlight Application

We are accepting applications to be featured in our Community Spotlight program at Phinney Center.

Program Goals

The program is designed to:

  • Foster community connection with other organizations in our neighborhood
  • Increase visibility for underrepresented voices
  • Celebrate cultural months and highlight the diversity of our community
  • Share stories you may not otherwise hear and nurture a sense of belonging

Exhibition Schedule

This is a rotating exhibition – each community organization will be given 3-4 weeks to display their materials.

Application Window

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Every three months, the PNA reviews new submissions and reaches out to all applicants within approximately 90 days of application.

Who Can Apply

We welcome applications from change-makers who meet the following criteria:

  • Based in or serving the Greater Seattle area.
  • Operates as a registered non-profit, local independent small business, or active grassroots community group.
  • Demonstrates a clear positive impact on our local community.
  • Have a clear purpose that compliments the PNA’s mission and values.

Exhibition Space

The exhibition is installed in the Gallery on the 3rd floor of PNA’s Blue Building — a community hub with regular daily foot traffic from classes, events, meetings, and neighborhood programming.
The dedicated space is a flat 9 feet by 7 feet wall.

Support & Promotion

Selected Community Spotlight organizations receive:

  • A featured profile on the PNA website
  • Promotion through PNA social media and e-newsletters
  • Exhibition experience in a community-focused setting

Additional Information

What should I display?

It’s up to you!

At a minimum we would like content of your display to represent your organization/work and explain the who (are you?), what (do you do?), where (do you do it?), and why (do you do what you do?).

Please be mindful of any photography or artwork you use you have permission and approval to display it in this space.

Please print information in a font size that will be readable from a 5ft distance as printouts placed on the wall can be difficult to see for many people.

You may share your website link or provide a QR code to your website. Please no direct solicitation.

We do have final right of refusal if we believe the exhibit does not align with our vision and/or values.

What should not be displayed?

No disparaging other organizations or peoples.  

Be mindful this space is occupied by families with impressionable children.  

Will my display be protected?

As this is a public space, we cannot guarantee viewers will not touch what is displayed. Please be mindful of this possibility.

How many items should be included in my display?

There is no minimum or maximum number of items to be included in the display, but the wall space is 9ft x 7ft.

Who is the audience seeing my exhibit?

The exhibit will be seen by members of the public – of all ages – who facilitate or attend classes, clubs, and events at the Phinney Center, as well as PNA staff and volunteers. Located in the gallery space on the 3rd floor of our Blue Building.

Can storage be provided before or after my exhibit?

Storage can be provided before the exhibit for a short period of time, but all materials must be removed upon the agreed upon end of the exhibition period.

Viewable during regular PNA building hours.
Monday-Friday: 9 am – 9:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9 am – 5 pm
