Art Gallery Opening Reception: The Healing Power of Art
Friday, September 13, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
“Art is a wound turned into light.”
-Georges Braque, French Cubist/Fauvist Painter, 1882-1963
Art can have a tremendous healing impact on artist and audience alike. Come view more than 40 works reflecting the perspectives and experiences of a wide variety of artists on the healing power of art.
Pieces were selected by a local community jury made up of Steph Tichenor, Dani Gray, and Esther Loopstra.
The show will include a special (non-juried) section featuring collages by the Greenwood Senior Center’s Early Stage Memory Loss group and work by participants from Path with Art.
Path with Art transforms the lives of people recovering from homelessness, addiction, and other trauma by harnessing the power of creative engagement as a bridge to community and a path to stability.
Enjoy music and refreshments and meet the artists. A must-stop during your PhinneyWood Art Walk travels!
Art will be on display through October 18.
