Jim Crow in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries

Despite the ratification of the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery, by the end of the Reconstruction the Southern states began to establish laws and practices that kept black people in a condition of servitude that was slavery in all but name.  This course explores the reality of life for black people beginning in the post-Reconstruction period up to the 1964 and 1965 Civil Rights Acts – and beyond.  $10 for PNA Members/$15 for Public for the series + $15 for course readings.

Once you have compiled all the necessary paperwork to complete your return, call (206) 297-0875 to schedule an appointment with the AARP volunteer tax preparers. While this service is free (such a bargain!), donations to the GSC are appreciated.

PADS for Parkinson’s: Training Dogs in Disease Detection
